Atheist Video One Million and One (… but this one is different!)

I thought I might qualify as atheist video one million and one for this particular video… but I’m not sure that I have.

I think that there are probably more than that out there about atheism and atheists.

It is just amazing how much is out there.

I have been watching videos about atheism and atheists for a few years now.

I Started out with watching Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens etc., and I really enjoyed those, and really liked quite a few of those videos – and I think it has been a good addition to have those videos out there, I think it helps people, it helps clarify their thinking.

But it seems like the number has just gone through the roof now.

I guess that’s good though because there is a brand and flavor for everyone… and everyone gets to throw their hat in the ring and voice their opinions.

There isn’t much that hasn’t been covered already about atheism in all of these videos… so it’s a bit daunting, and I was kind of discouraged at first about what do I have to say about atheism that hasn’t already been said hundreds, if not thousands, of times before.

But actually some of the things I am going to say ARE different, and I am going to talk about some things that aren’t talked about as much.

For example, I am going to talk about some of the “problems” in atheism… it’s not really a problem, but it is actually problematic for some reasons.

For example, the “emptiness” of atheism, and the lack in atheism.

Atheism is an emotional emptiness, there is a lack of answers. and there is a gnawing unknown.

These negatives are part of atheism, they are part and parcel of it.

But as an agnostic atheist, the so-called positive feelings of religious belief are not an option open to me, I just don’t have that option available.

So, if you want to find out some things that AREN’T covered by other videos on atheism, come back and watch my videos.

I am going to take on some of the tough issues.. I am not going for the low hanging fruit, trying to debunk Noah’s ark, or the Garden of Eden etc. I might touch on some of those things, but there are already about 500 videos on each of those topics, so I am not going there.

What I want to do is talk about some of the “meaty” issues, and some of the problematic issues.. some of the things that people don’t think about involved with atheism.

Actually, some of these things are the things that SCARE religious believers, and I want to bring them out in the open and talk about them.
