Welcome to my website – “Alex Aldrin: The Thinker”.

I am called “The Thinker” – because I like to think!

Maybe you are here because you like to think as well!

If you like to think and learn… and aren’t afraid to own up to it, then you might enjoy my videos.

When I grew up and into my 30s I was a bass player in heavy metal rock bands… and I found that my interests in history, philosophy and science didn’t evoke much response in the crowd I hung around with.

For a long time I suppressed my interests, but at some point I decided I was going to study what I wanted to study, and think about what I wanted to think about, regardless of what other people thought about it… or if they were interested or not.

I finally realized that I love thinking… I get energized by thinking and learning.

Curiosity and an open mind are things I value most.

These topics and videos are designed to share some of my thoughts on things I am interested in and have developed opinions on. Please note: My opinions are subject to change.

In addition to sharing my views on various topics I hope to ask some questions and provoke you to think and wonder.

In general, I hope to present a “middle view”… I often have an opinion or view of my own that I have developed, but like to try to understand the opposing view. So, I would like to look at things from both sides when possible.

Lately the topics that have interested me most are atheism and religion.

I am interested in the contrasts between atheism and religious belief… how people can believe, and not believe. How the brain is involved in belief, and the motivations for believing, or not believing.

So to begin, my videos will be covering the topics of atheism and religion. I want to find some middle ground here, and present viewpoints promoting understanding, rather than division.
